Healing Art Journaling with Traveler’s Notebooks & Unity Stamps

Hello everyone! Last week I went back to one of my favorite crafts… Art Journaling. I’ve been sharing my personal journey over at Instagram Live, and I have to say, journaling¬† is a beautiful process. I had stopped journaling because of how introspective it can be, and also because of my very limited time as a busy mom of two. But I recently got a gift from a dear from of mine, Laurie, and she included a traveler’s notebook set for me. I thought it was such a kind and perfect gift! I knew I had to do something special with those notebooks, and then the thought of journaling came back to me…

Art journaling with traveler’s notebook is the right thing for me at this moment in my life… Small pages, quicker spreads, yet meaningful as can be… Click below to watch my latest art journaling live video, in which I walk you through my creative process!

I’ve listed all the supplies used that I could find online for you on the video description. You can also click HERE and HERE, to check them out!

Hope you enjoy today’s post. It’s a little more personal, but it’s certainly something creative that I thought could inspire you to spread your crafty wings! That’s all for now, thanks for stopping by, and until next time!

NEW Rubber Stamps with Unity & Graciellie Design

Happy Friday! This has certainly been a jam packed week… Lots of new things going on and this time I’m delighted to be back on the blog to share about my new stamp kits with Unity! FIVE NEW KITS are being added to the Graciellie Design collection today: A Christmas Hello, Obsessively Grateful, Stay Strong, Sweetness and You Matter.

A couple of Inspiration Projects

A Christmas Hello…

Such a fun kit, with big and bold words and modern poinsettia and pinecone hanging elements… All the words come separate so you can mix and match to your heart’s content!

This shaker card was so fun to make! I watercolored the poinsettias with Arteza Real Brush markers, using the colors Red, Hot Pink and Flamingo Pink. The background was smooshed with watered down Tranquil Teal Premium Dye Ink by Gina K. Designs (available also at Unity), and then for the die cut frame that holds the shaker, I inked it with the same ink using a sponge dauber and sprayed it with water… I’m so in love with the way this ink reacted to water… This color in particular is beautiful! I also used Deco Foil Adhesive pen to add silver splatters to the background and the frame. Love how the foiled details tie all the design together.

The shaker in general feels a lot like a snowy scene. I used lots and lots of sequins from Unity in teal blue -that matches the ink so well- and in translucent silver. I also added some Fran-tage Silver Lux Mix micas & glitter… So yeah, this card really shakes! (I thought I had added too many sequins to the shaker, but everyone says there’s no such thing as too much when it comes to sequins! LOL)

You Matter…

My second card is so dreamy! I’ve had this clear stenciled background for months, and now it’s finally on a card! You Matter comes with beautiful sentiment stamps, uplifting and inspiring without a doubt. The modern floral vignette is also hand illustrated by yours truly and I love how it looks colored in lilacs! The background is a piece of Deco Foil Clear Toner Sheet stenciled with Platinum Modeling Paste by TCW Stencils.¬†The stenciled acetate sheet is layered on a sprayed and splattered card panel… The colors behind it truly brings the entire card to life!

Floral Balloons Birthday Card with Hey Friend Stamps

Happy Friday! It doesn’t get happier than this… A super colorful, birthday card with a fun twist. Today I have a card using the new stamps from the kit Hey Friend as balloons! This is one of my latest kits for Unity Stamp Co. and it is one of the most versatile kits I’ve designed… All images and sentiments included in this set can be used and mixed in different ways, allowing you to create unique projects with it every time!

This week I’ve been sharing a few videos on Instagram showing how I colored and put together this card. If you want to take a peek make sure to follow me over there.

This was my first time using the new Amalgam Ink and it does everything it is supposed to do and more. I hand stamped the floral elements on Canson Watercolor paper and also the sentiments on vellum, which I then heat embossed in black. (This ink will dry on vellum in case you’re wondering.) I didn’t need to set the ink at all to start watercoloring the flowers with Zig Clean Color markers, which is great.

I die cut the frame from an Echo Park Summer Dreams patterned paper using an old but cute Spellbinders die called Diamond Effects. I adhered a piece of Polka Dots Clear Toner Sheet behind the frame, foiled with Summer Rainbow Deco Foil, just for fun, no shaker this time.

I fussy cut the flowers with Westcott precision scissors and added them to the card front using XL Tape Runner and 3D Zots by Therm O web. I tried to make the flowers look like balloons, so I used them upside down, adhering them as a cluster.

To finish my card I added the vellum banners with the sentiments and a bunch of pretty sequins by Unity.

Hope you enjoyed! Make sure to visit me on Instagram to watch how I put together this card! Also stay tuned for a second post coming up later today! Until then.
