Hello everyone! Today I’m happy to be back with a second card featuring Brutus Monroe, as their guest designer! This time I have a colorful and sparkly idea using the Feathered Sentiments Clear Stamp Set and the Barn Wall background rubber stamp!
For today’s card, I stamped and heat embossed the Barn Wall pattern on vellum, with a gold glitter embossing powder. I attached that vellum panel to a white card base and then added a teared piece from a monoprinted and painted background on top of it. The sparkle, color and textures of this card base ended up looking amazing together! Totally not planned but so perfect!
I stamped lots of feathers from the Feathered Sentiments stamp set and watercolored them with traditional watercolored followed by a bit of glitter watercolors applied only on certain parts of the images to create a nice color transition! I fussy cut the feathers and attached them around the bold sentiment which truly brings all the design together! All the images on this card were stamped with Raven Detail Ink by Brutus Monroe. Perfect for watercoloring and any other coloring media you have in mind!
That’s it for now! I so hope you enjoy this post. I hope it inspires you to create something pretty today! Make sure to check out all the products mentioned above at Brutus Monroe’s website… Love everything they carry on their shop! A big thanks to Brutus Monroe for inviting me to guest design with them. Such an honor!
Hello everyone! Today I’ll show you how to add color to the new Holiday Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheets using alcohol markers! This is a fun and satisfying technique that will let you create colorful clear and foiled backgrounds for your cards and more! On the other hand, today’s card also features Newton’s Nooknew Caroling Newton stamps and Forest Scene Builer dies. All the cute and bright elements on this non-traditional Holiday card look amazing together! Scroll down to watch the video tutorial.
How to Color Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheets Video Tutorial
The Deco Foil Clear Toner Sheets are made of acetate, which is a non-porous surface. Only certain coloring media will work well in this kind of surfaces, and alcohol ink is one of them. Since crafters usually have permanent coloring markers on hand, I used markers to color the backgrounds for this tutorial. Be sure to experiment and try out alcohol inks directly if you have some in your stash!
Tip: Rubbing alcohol is the only one that will all the alcohol markers and/or inks to dry properly. I have tried this technique with regular alcohol in the past with decent results. Nevertheless, regular alcohol will make alcohol inks feel tacky, will take days to dry completely and won’t activate and move the inks as rubbing alcohol does. The way alcohol inks react with rubbing alcohol is what creates all those interesting patterns and that is what you want to get with every background!
The best part of this technique is that it won’t damage your Clear Designer Toner Sheets or the foiled patterns on it. I recommend that you protect the surface you’re going to work on if you don’t want it to get stained with alcohol inks. Your hands may get stained also, but you can avoid that easily with a pair of gloves!

Happy Friday! I’m so excited to come here and share some happy news! The new Unity October Sentiment Kit is live now! I created a set of beautiful verses combined with a couple of loose, sketchy flowers I drew recently. I love faith stamp kits and this one in particular comes with SO many verses! I definetely love it and know that it will be used over and over again for my cardmaking and faith journaling.
For today’s card I used the verse from Isaiah 40:31 together with both the florals included in the kit. I colored the flowers with Jane Davenport Aquapastels and Prismacolor Pencils. The background is made with the new Barn Wall stamp by Brutus Monroe for Unity. I stamped the woodgrain pattern on dark teal cardstock using Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink. I also splatterned the background with a white paint pen by Sharpie. I also added some Unity sequins here and there, because I couldn’t help myself! LOL
This new kit is called I am With You and it is on sale right now! So if you’re like me, and you can’t wait to start stamping and coloring with this kit, click HERE. I hope this set inspires you and everyone it reaches through a card, just as much as it inspired me while I was creating it.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what your favorite verse from the kit is… Mine is Psalms 31:24 – “Be Strong and He will strengthen you heart.”

Lots of yummy layers on this one! I cut both the tag card and matting tag on my Cricut Explore Air 2 and added layers of embossing enamel, glitter, mica, metallic modeling paste, bits of Deco Foil and so on! You know how much I love adding chunky textures to my projects lately, I can’t help myself!
I colored the image with Arteza Real Brush Pens and added details with a white Sharpie paint pen in the end. I always like to seal my watercolored digi images with resin spray or Krylon Workable Fixatif to protect my coloring and also to make the colors pop a bit more…
I finished my tag card with white wrinkle ribbon and a bow that I tied around the matting tag before adhering it to the card, and, also used the coffee word SVG from the Coffee Lovers set. Of course I did add some sequins from Unity and gold thread because I can’t have enough layers on a card… I know!
Hope you enjoyed today’s post! If you are a winner, please send me a message and I will be happy to send you your prize!!! We have a new giveaway over at our Facebook page and there’s still time to join. Click here to find out more!

Coffee Lovers SVG
While I was making my cards for this event, I felt the need to have a tag card, and coffee themed elements and words. I didn’t have dies like that to cut them, so I decided to go ahead and put together an SVG pack that includes 39 coffee / tea cuts… It’s called Coffee Lovers and it’s so much fun! Love all the possibilities with these SVGS. Click here to see everything this pack includes!
My second card for today features the new SVGS! I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut lots and lots of elements, in different kinds of papers, that I then layered and adhered around the white card base. I added a touch of gloss with the new GK Crystalline Drops! The SVG phrase is actually 2 separate words that I welded using the option on Cricut Design Space. These are very easy to use and you can upload them to your Cricut, Silhouette and even Brother Scan-n-Cut platforms. They can be resized to any size and combined however you like, which makes this set so fun!

Today we’re happy to be collaborating with the awesome and -oh so- talented girls over at theCoffee Loving Cardmakers blog. We’ll be sharing our love for coffee featuring the new Stay Strong frappuccino coffee stamp set.
New Stay Strong Stamp Set
This new kit is available now as a digital and also as a rubber stamp kit at Unity Stamp Co. The new alternative kit at Unity comes with extra elements that we know you’ll love… It’s so versatile and gives you the space to mix and match to create different cards every time! Come take a peek at the complete stamp set… Click HEREfor the rubber stamp kit and HEREfor the digital stamp set available on Etsy!
My creative process behind these cards
I colored these images using Arteza markers and I even shared the process live on Instagram. I used the colors Bubble Bath Pink, Lavender, Bright Green, Pear Green, and Amaranth Pink. The idea was to match the coloring with the hues on the monoprinted mixed media background. I like to keep pre-made background around and these two happened to be from the same monoprinting batch. If you want to see how I made these, please click HERE
I made a second card with the floral cone stamp from the kit Sweetness. This one is also available in both digital and rubber stamp sets! I wanted to create a set of 2 matching cards for a gift or just for fun and to make them look alike I teared the monoprinted backgrounds and adhered the pieces on opposite corners of the card front. To finish the cards I added a sentiment banner from the kits and lots of pretty sequins from Unity.
That’s all on my part, but as you could see there’s plenty of more to see! I know the girls would love to hear what you think about their cards, so make sure to leave some love on every stop! Join the giveaway over at Coffee Loving Cardmakers too!
Before I go, I invite you to follow me on Instagram to check out how I create my cards! I share live videos with lots of tips and tricks! See you there!

Such a fun kit, with big and bold words and modern poinsettia and pinecone hanging elements… All the words come separate so you can mix and match to your heart’s content!
This shaker card was so fun to make! I watercolored the poinsettias with Arteza Real Brush markers, using the colors Red, Hot Pink and Flamingo Pink. The background was smooshed with watered down Tranquil Teal Premium Dye Ink by Gina K. Designs (available also at Unity), and then for the die cut frame that holds the shaker, I inked it with the same ink using a sponge dauber and sprayed it with water… I’m so in love with the way this ink reacted to water… This color in particular is beautiful! I also used Deco Foil Adhesive pen to add silver splatters to the background and the frame. Love how the foiled details tie all the design together.
The shaker in general feels a lot like a snowy scene. I used lots and lots of sequins from Unity in teal blue -that matches the ink so well- and in translucent silver. I also added some Fran-tage Silver Lux Mix micas & glitter… So yeah, this card really shakes! (I thought I had added too many sequins to the shaker, but everyone says there’s no such thing as too much when it comes to sequins! LOL)
My second card is so dreamy! I’ve had this clear stenciled background for months, and now it’s finally on a card! You Matter comes with beautiful sentiment stamps, uplifting and inspiring without a doubt. The modern floral vignette is also hand illustrated by yours truly and I love how it looks colored in lilacs! The background is a piece of Deco Foil Clear Toner Sheet stenciled with Platinum Modeling Paste by TCW Stencils. The stenciled acetate sheet is layered on a sprayed and splattered card panel… The colors behind it truly brings the entire card to life!
Happy Wednesday! The one thing I love about mornings is it gives me the feeling of a fresh start… Today is an even more special day because we are celebrating our brand new digital release and it is oh so fun and filled with inspiring sentiments and cute images! Three new digi stamp sets have been released today. Click here to take a peek!
This time I’m featuring the new Stay Strong! This set comes with 2 high quality handdrawn images, a fun Frappuccino and a modern floral to mix and match, plus 7 happy and inspiring sentiments.
Make a Shaker with a Digital Stamp
This card din’t come easy, and I’ll tell you why… This lovely Frappuccino is one of those images that gives you so much freedom since you can color it however you like… I’ve seen every color and every flavor of frappuccinos around and so all the options made me take longer, as I couldn’t decide how to color this lovely stamp! Nevertheless, I found this background on my scrap bin, and that grounded my ideas.
I colored the Frappuccino with Arteza Markers in Bubble Bath Pink, Periwinkle, Wisteria Purple and Amaranth Pink. I made the coloring look like the actual topping on iced coffee melting in the whipped cream and inside the Frappuccino. I’ve been playing a lot with this coloring idea and it works with any and every color you want to use for the coffee cup! Finished the coloring with dots here and there using fineliners, a white gel pen and a silver oil based marker.
The background is made from pieces of a printed Mixed Media Sheet, that I then foiled with Silver Deco Foil and next colored with watercolors. The pattern I printed on the sheet is quite distressed and printing it through a laser printer allowed me to run it through a laminator and foil it. The sheet is easy to tear and that is how I made the three pieces that I adhered across an A2 card panel with Mixed Media Adhesive. Finally I added pieces of Tim Holtz washi tape across the background… Love the final look, with the words on the washi. It looks quite graphic!
The heart on the center of the Frappuccinohad me thinking about doing some paper piercing (which I tried and looked really nice), but then I felt like making a shaker out of the heart would be cute! This is something you can make with all your digi stamps that have a particular shape within the image. I used a Titanium Craft Knife from Westcott to cut out the heart, adhered a piece of Deco Foil Clear Toner Sheet acetate, followed by a double layered strip of foam tape and a bunch of pretty Ariel sequins from Unity Stamp Co.
