I stenciled my second card with Dreamweaver Pearlescent Embossing Paste and also finished it with a few foiled details, using Thermoweb Decofoil in Magenta.

Fresh & Fruity with Sunny Studio Stamps – Fun Summer Card Ideas –

Summer crafts can be so fun, especially with the sweet images from Sunny Studio Stamps. Today I’m sharing 3 cards I created with stamps from the set Fresh & Fruity… It’s so fun and versatile! My favorite thing about these stamps is all the options you get so you can add little faces and other details to your images.

I created patterned backgrounds with the fun fruit images which I heat embossed in glitter gold and white. I went for an ombre look on 2 cards and I decided to watercolor the strawberries on my first card with distress inks. I also foiled the edges on my second card and discover the Thermoweb’s Champagne transfer foil matches perfectly the tone of gold on Clearsnap’s Glitter Gold embossing powder.

Sunny Studio Stamps has a brand new release and I already picked my favorites! They also have fun, versatile dies that go along perfect with their sweet stamps. Make sure you head to their blog (that will be featuring my cards today) and shop to check out their collection. If you stop by the blog I invite you to leave Mendi (the designer behind all these sweet stamps) a comment too!

That’s it for now. Hope you are enjoying your Summer so far! Until next time… Stay crafty.

Versatile Cardmaking using one Product- Featuring Fancy Pants Designs –

I believe all of us have bought products that we aren’t able to use throughout the year. Maybe they’re seasonal or maybe they only fit a certain style. What if I told you there are products out there that are so versatile, you can stretch them and use them in many ways, for different styles of cards and seasons? Well, today I’m sharing with you two totally different cards using the same product.

This is the first post on a series that I think could help you achieve a much more versatile and enjoyable cardmaking process, saving you time and money along the way. Today I am featuring a kind of product everyone should have in their stash, a kit.

Main Supplies:
Paper – Fancy Pants Designs | Flutter Collection Kit
Embellishments – Eyelet Outlet | Glitter Silver Dot Washi Tape, Vintage Washi Tape, Foil Washi Tape – Gold/Stars, Round Jewels – Pink/Blue, 12mm Jewel Bling – Clear Edge, Pink Pearl Bling – Multi Size – 100 Count, Flower Jewels – Clear, Gray Jewel Multi Size Bling – 100 Count
Stamp – Graciellie Design | Think Spring Digital Stamp Set
Dies – Spellbinders | Rose Creations, Classic Circles, Gold Circles One, A2 Matting Basics. Cheery Lynn Designs | English Tea Party Doily. Memory Box Dies | Botanical Stem
Miscelaneous – Pink Gross Grain Ribbon, Large Pearls, Gauze, Beige cardstock, Double Sided Adhesive, Foam Tape

Using the versatile Flutter Collection Kit by Fancy Pants Designs I was able to complete two cards, one for Spring and another one for Summer. Yes, both cards were made using papers from the same collection! This kit includes patterned and solid textured papers, decorative elements, buttons, solid and patterned gold foil cardstock and embellishments, journaling cards in three different sizes including large ones that would work perfect for a CAS card front. So, as you can see, the possibilities are endless… This is a very complete kit that gives you an incredibly diverse palette to work with and it is the kind of kit everyone need in their stash. Though it is meant to be used for scrapbooking, project life, and albums I decided to show you how much you can get from it for cardmaking too!

On my Spring card I used three of the softer papers in the collection and used die cuts to complete a cute and delicate design. It is really great to find a kit that allows you to create a variety of projects and as you can see, I found pastel tones in this collection that work perfect for Spring. Besides the die cuts I also added a lot of jewels, a couple of banners made from washi tape and one of my digital sentiments that I printed to coordinate the rest of the design.

On my Summer card I used elements and papers from the kit entirely -no die cuts-, and the result was so cute and fun. I love to use journaling cards to layer my cards and that is exactly what I did on my second card. The papers and elements complete the design so well, all I needed to do was add a few jewels and a bit of washi tape.

Take a closer look to the NEW digital stamp set I used on my first card here.

I will be back with the second part of this short series, sharing new cards using this same collection kit. Special thanks to Fancy Pants Designs for sponsoring this series.

Inspired by North Coast Creations

First of all, I hope your family is enjoying and celebrating a blessed Father’s Day today! If your dad is now enjoying his day in Heaven, like mine, then I hope you are taking time to remember him and celebrate his memory. Today’s card is a little tribute to today’s celebration, to fathers in general, since I thought this was a great male card with bright, Summer colors and stamps.

I was inspired by a wonderful new stamp set by North Coast Creations, Our Daily Bread Designs sister company, an thought I would use bright colors to create a clean and simple card. This new stamp set is called Sail Away. I colored the image with alcohol markers, using various tones of aquamarine blue for the sea and light browns and red for the striped sail. The contrast is lovely and very suitable for Summer. I like this sentiment too and what I did is die cut it with a Mini Tag die (that I find so versatile) and add some linen thread. I also cut the front panel vertically to leave a gap and reveal the red layer beneath it.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post. For more inspiration by NCC’s designers, please click here. Thanks for visiting and see you again soon!

Summer Sunflowers

Hello! Welcome to my challenge post for Classy Cards ‘n Such. This week we have a great inspiration photo! Our cards have to be Sunflower Inspired.

These are truly bright summer colors in an unusual combination, at least for me. I decided to emphasize on the sunflower theme adding accents of red and green around my central image.

I stamped a bunch of sunflowers with Penny Black’s Flower Gallery set. I colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. Some of the flowers were stamped on a Spellbinders Classic Label Four, and some were fuzzy cut and adhered to the label afterwards. I applied Inka Gold in Yellow Gold to the sunflowers to give them a nice shimmer. I added Baby Rhinestones – Silver to the center of the flowers too.

I mounted the white label on a green metallic Spellbinders Imperial Gold Label Four, and then mounted these on a red Spellbinders Classic Label Four.

For the front of my card I added a piece of patterned paper from Shery K. Designs I printed on White Pearl Linen. I used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A to cut the patterned layer. Also, I created a nice border with Spellbinders Classic Edges Two and Classic Decorative Inserts Three. To finish the design I ran across a piece of red ribbon (slightly to the left) and tied a double bow.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my card! Join our challenge this week for a chance to win a special prize from the store. Visit Classy Cards ‘n Such and link up your Sunflower Inspired creation. If you’d like to check out the supplies I used to make my card click on the links added above or click here to visit the store.

Coastal Inspiration – Accordion Window Card

Hello everyone. This has been a very challenging week for me, physically. I’ve struggled with lots of back pain and have rested as much as possible. Today I was feeling relatively better, so I decided to create a card for the current Mod Squad challenge, which theme is: Coastal Inspiration. The very talented Laurie is hosting the challenge this week. So I designed an accordion window card for her!

I went for warm colors and a very classic design. I used Gina K. Designs’ Little Things Duo stamp set, that I recently got from the store. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers from various sets (Browns, Pale Hues, Essentials). To create that contour shading on the bird, I simply used the blender to remove all the browns I had colored it with first. I did use the softer tones of browns mostly. Also I sponged both the image and the card itself with Distress Ink in Old Paper.

For the front of my card, I stamped handwriting fragments very roughly with Distress Ink in Old Paper and I heat embossed some in gold. The I die cut a circle to create a window on the center. Next I dry embossed the front, to add texture. And finally I added all the embellishments. I embellished the card with paper cord, gross grain ribbon, burlap ribbon and a vintage button. I finished my design with a heat embossed gold sentiment on vellum, that I adhered from the inside of the front of the card.

I hope you like my card. I thought I’d never finish it, because we are having so many blackouts in my country right now. We had 3 short ones while I was making this card!

Thanks so much for stopping by! And thanks to Laurie for such a great challenge!

Sweet Birthday Card

Hello everyone. This week has gone by so fast and I can’t believe it’s time for another challenge at Hiding in my Craft Room: “Pumpkin Cobbler Delight”. This is a color challenge and we are asked to use Stampin’ Up’s colors: Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, and Daffodil Delight.

Our sponsor this week is 2 Cute Ink, and oh my are their images cute indeed!

2 Cute Ink is giving away

Two images from their store
to a lucky winner!

I got to use one of their images called Cupcake Kitty and I loved playing with it. I think it’s perfect for a birthday card but would also work with so many other occassions, especially for a kid.

I printed the image on White Pearl Linen which is my preferred textured cardstock for that task. I colored the kitty with Spectrum Noir markers from various sets (Yellows, Reds, Pinks, Essentials) and added some glitter glue to the cupcake frost that I think looks perfect with the fun design. I wrapped a piece of red ribbon around the cupcake, that matches the little cherry, and tied a bow.

I mounted the image on a layer of gingham patterned paper from Shery K. Designs and adhered it to an orange base I die cut with Spellbinders’ Diamond Effects which goes along nicely with the rest of the design.

Finally I added a little banner with a heat embossed sentiment from Penny Black’s Tweet Tweet set in Silver.

I really hope you feel inspired to join us this week! Also remember that the winners of our blog hop have been announced, so you better hop along again and check if you won one or more of the great prizes given away (click here).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Holly Hobbie – HIMCR #157

It’s time for a new Super Scraps Saturday at Hiding in my Craft Room. And this week we are sponsored by one of my favorite digital stamp stores: A Day for Daisies.

They are giving away a $12 gift certificate to a lucky winner. I had a chance to use a sweet holly hobbie image from their store and went for a floral summer theme with my design.

I embossed the background and added a scrap of floral paper from Haj Designs. I used Spectrum Noir markers, Memento and Distress inks for the image. And finally I added a double bow and some vynil stickers to complete the card.

I enjoyed working with this lovely image and this design very much. I hope you feel inspired to join us this week with your creation. Remember the main rule is to use your scraps!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
