Healing Art Journaling with Traveler’s Notebooks & Unity Stamps

Hello everyone! Last week I went back to one of my favorite crafts… Art Journaling. I’ve been sharing my personal journey over at Instagram Live, and I have to say, journaling  is a beautiful process. I had stopped journaling because of how introspective it can be, and also because of my very limited time as a busy mom of two. But I recently got a gift from a dear from of mine, Laurie, and she included a traveler’s notebook set for me. I thought it was such a kind and perfect gift! I knew I had to do something special with those notebooks, and then the thought of journaling came back to me…

IMG_20190329_183054_544

Art journaling with traveler’s notebook is the right thing for me at this moment in my life… Small pages, quicker spreads, yet meaningful as can be… Click below to watch my latest art journaling live video, in which I walk you through my creative process!

I’ve listed all the supplies used that I could find online for you on the video description. You can also click HERE and HERE, to check them out!

Hope you enjoy today’s post. It’s a little more personal, but it’s certainly something creative that I thought could inspire you to spread your crafty wings! That’s all for now, thanks for stopping by, and until next time!

Sunflower Galore • New Digital Stamps & Papers

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to be here today, to share what I think is one of our most exciting digital releases, because it is one that both you and I brought together through live videos, suggestions and a strong and loyal connection. YES, it’s finally the day to share our April release, and it includes new sunflower stamps and papers, wildflowers and more! (Jump to the end of this post to see all our new sets!)

SunflowerCards_GraciellieDesign_1

Today I’m featuring the Summer Sunflowers Digital Stamp Set and Paper Pack. Both these cards were super easy to make! In fact, I shared bits and pieces of the creative process on Instagram live videos in the past weeks. From the illustration of this stamp set to the actual card ideas, it all started off on live videos together with our followers! In fact you can watch how this background was made HERE!

The sunflowers were printed on mixed media paper using a laser printer, and colored with Zig Clean Color markers and a waterbrush. The patterned paper was printed on photo paper, and then stenciled with Deco Foil Transfer Gel. Once the gel dried I was able to run it through the laminator covered with Gold Shattered Glass Deco Foil, and it turned out like this! The foiled harlequin texture on top of the sunflower patterned papers is SO gratifying!

Quick Card Ideas using Digital Stamps & Papers

Hello friends! I thought I’d stop by and share with you a couple of quick card ideas using digital stamps and papers… Whether you love to color or not, these are cards that you can put together very quickly and they both are trendy and colorful!

For the first card, all I used was a few printed scraps from the Flutter Away Digital Paper Pack and a digital sentiment from the stamp set with the same name.

To make this card:

  1. Tear 1″ strips from different patterned papers. They don’t need to be exactly the same.
  2. Attach the strips to a black card base. The card base color should contrast the digital papers you use, but it doesn’t have to be black necessarily.
  3. Print and die cut a digital sentiment stamp. A round die cut looks great with this simple design.
  4. Mount the sentiment with foam squares on the center of the card.
  5. Optional: Adhere some sequins.

This is possibly the easiest, fastests, and most striking card I’ve made! Love how all the colors stand out. If you want to try out these digital sets click HERE and HERE.

For the second card, we’re going for a rainbow themed design… You’ll need the Rainbow Vibes Digital Paper Pack together with the Color my World Digital Stamp Set.

To make this card:

  1. Print a Rainbow Vibes stripe sheet using an inkjet printer, and cut it into a 4.25″ by 5.5″ panel.
  2. Attach the panel to a white card base of the same size.
  3. Next, print a sentiment on white cardstock and cut a panel 5.5″ long from it, making sure the sentiment is centered on the piece.
  4. Mount the sentiment panel to the card using foam tape.
  5. Finally, print 2 paintbrushes from the same digital stamp set, fussy cut and quickly color them. Attach the images to the card using foam squares.
  6. Optional: Adhere some sequins.

As an alternative option you could foil your digital stamp images before adding them to the card. You can do that by simply printing the images with a laser printer. The toner from the printer will make the foil attach when ran through a laminator. I used a Gold Shattered Glass Deco Foil on the paintbrushes and did some light watercoloring using Zig markers. (Foil will resist the watercoloring.)

Love how the vertical sentiment panel balances the bold rainbow patterned paper. The painbrushes frame the sentiment and add an extra fun touch to the design. If you want to try out these digital sets click HERE and HERE.

I hope you find these ideas useful for your crafts! There’s an infinite amount of quick designs that are possible using digital stamps and papers, and I would love you to be inspired to experiment and create with them!

That’s all for now. Have a crafty weekend! Until next time.

You Bubble my World • Deco Foil & Glitter Bubble Tea Card Idea

Happy Monday everyone! Today I’m sharing a cute -and extra shimmery- card, using a new digital stamp set called Bubbly Feels. This bubble tea set is SO much fun! It comes with a bubble tea image, plus a little tag, and lots of themed sentiments to coordinate with!

BubbleTeaDigitalStamps_GraciellieDesign_6

BubbleTeaDigitalStamps_GraciellieDesign_4

I have to admit I had too much fun making this card! First, I printed the image on a laser printer, using smooth white cardstock. Then I covered it with Gold Deco Foil, and ran it through a laminator. Once foiled, I colored the bubble tea with Paul Rubens Glitter Watercolors, using the colors Pearl Platinum, Rose Red, and Deep Interference Red. LOVE all the shimmer!

BubbleTeaDigitalStamps_GraciellieDesign_2

For the background, I simply die cut a panel, and then added the bubble tea silhouette die cut (which can be easily done by uploading the stamp to your Cricut Design Space as a cut file). I used a printed sheet from the Pink & Blue Digital Paper Pack to cut the bubble tea silhouette. I also layered the background with different strips of washi tape. Finally, I added a bit of wash on the top right corner of the card using Rose Red glitter watercolor. I mounted the panel on a Gina K. Designs Bubblegum Premium Cardstock.

BubbleTeaDigitalStamps_GraciellieDesign_7

I hope you enjoyed today’s card idea! I can’t with the gold foiling… It makes everything look perfect! PLUS, this new bubble tea set is too much fun… Oh my!

Coffee or Cocoa, whatever keeps you grounded (smile) • New Coffee Stamp Set

Happy Monday! I truly hope it’s a good one for you (and me, as well)! I know there’s always so much to do in a week, and our schedules are usually full, but I also know that somehow we manage to find time to stay creative! That creativity is healing and inspiring…

It was a series of little creative breaks what brought me here today! Last week, I found myself illustrating a new stamp set, and then making a card with it! This new set is fun, sweet and extra cute! It is called Coffee or Cocoa, and it is the biggest coffee themed stamp set we’ve ever put together! It comes with 3 images, and 8 sentiments… (Lots of fun!)

Extra Layered Background using SVG Cut Files and Digital Papers

This card comes with many layers… I started out by cutting one of the new Heart Cards SVG backgrounds on my Cricut Explore Air 2, from white cardstock. Next, I layered a torn piece of patterned paper from the Sweet Love Digital Paper Pack and attached it across the center of the background using Deco Foil Foam Adhesive Sheets. I also adhered a second layer of the same patterned paper underneath the white heart panel, with the same foam sheets. All of this was then added to a GK Passionate Pink Premium Cardstock card base.

coffeeorcocoadigitalstamps_gracielliedesign_3

Printing & Coloring my Images

I had so much fun overlaying and printing both heart cups together! I used Microsoft Word to do it… Because of the way the images are created, you’ll be able to do overlays like this one very easily, so no technical knowledge is required… Just insert the images, and place one on top of the other, and then print! I used an inkjet Brother Printer, since regular ink works great with alcohol markers, and that is what I wanted to color the heart cups with! I printed them on Canson Mixed Media Paper.

I used Spectrum Noir markers from the Magenta and Green Teal color family for the cups, and then Red Browns and Muted Browns for the cocoa and coffee. A white gel pen came in handy at the very end to emphasize the little white dots on the cocoa, and also paint some art on the coffee with the help of an Arteza waterbrush (smile).

coffeeorcocoadigitalstamps_gracielliedesign_4

The sentiment on the other hand, was printed using a Samsung laser printer, because toner is what works better with vellum. I attached the cups with 3D Foam Squares and the sentiment banner with the new GK Adhesive Dot Runner. Finally I added some Unity Sequins using Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive.

Sale Extended

I love all the possibilities with this new Coffee or Cocoa digital stamps set. I know you’ll love it too! Be sure to click here and visit our new website to check out this and all our other new digital sets. We’ve added new SVG Cut files, patterned papers and stamps to spark your creativity! Growing slowly is totally fine! Inspiration card using Digital Stamps + Our Winner!

Happy Monday! I wanted to stop by and share a new card with you. This one strikes a sensitive chord, because it reminds me of where I come from, and how I got here! I illustrated this stamp during the first week of the new year, and I knew this was going to be a special set right away. This new digital stamp set is called I Can Do All Things, and you can find out more about it HERE.

Today’s card is super fresh and is my first attempt at using more yellow during 2019. Yes, using this vibrant color more is one of my crafty goals for the year!

Although at first glance it may seem like the floral ladder is part of the background, it was actually printed separately on Canson Mixed Media Paper, using the Samsung M2020W Laser Printer. Printing the image in a laser printer, allows me to watercolor the image without any issues! I colored the ladder and flowers with both Arteza and Zig Real Brush pens, and both brands seemed to work together nicely. It also helps a lot having the digi stamp printed on mixed media paper, since it works great with these markers!

icandoallthingsdigitalstamps_gracielliedesign_2

Next, I fussy cut the image and set it to the side. Meanwhile I used the Permanent Yellow from the Paul Rubens Watercolors to create a loose large splatter on a white card panel. I think the yellow brings this card to life and the wash effect on one side is all that was necessary to make every other element pop! Once the background was ready, I adhered the image to it using the new Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive by Therm O Web. This adhesive is also what I used to attach the sequins (and it works amazing)!

I printed the sentiment together with the floral ladder, and many other digi stamps I wanted to color, and that way I can fill the entire sheet with images and not have any waste! I extended some splatters to the sentiment, and I feel like doing a little something like this ties everything together! I die cut the sentiment using GK Designs Double Stitch Design Circle Die Set, and I mounted it on the background using 3D Zots.

Blog Hop + Giveaway + New Stamp Bundles + Winners

Happy Monday! Yes, there’s so much going on today, a blog post title cannot summarize it! (I gave it my best try though! lol) Ok, so today is our official brand new release day over at the digital shop. We’ve been adding new products to the website all throughout last week, and now we can finally show you everything at once, and also share project ideas with 6 new digital sets! Plus, today we’re announcing the winners of our latest giveaways AND we have another awesome gift card giveaway to share! (Scroll down for details.)

These are the cards I created for today! Looking at these images my first thought is how much love and joy I felt while I was drawing them! I happen to love hearts… Chunky hearts that is, just like the ones on my stamp sets. I also love donut and candy illustrations, so I think these new digis from the set Sweet Love are lots of fun to color and make cards with!

SweetLoveDigitalStamps_GraciellieDesign_1b.jpg

Designing a Printable Layout with Digital Stamps

For the donut card, I created a template using the Photoshop program. It is sized to fit an A2 card front perfectly and all I needed to do is print the panel, cut and color it, and finally attach it to a white card base. You can create any layout you like with our digital stamps on a photo editing program or even on Microsoft Word… Just insert the images you want to use, copy and paste them as many times as needed to create a pattern or layout, and add your sentiment. This is a great technique for when you need to make many cards at once! You simply can’t go wrong with premade layouts!

sweetlovelayoutonword_gracielliedesign

I colored the donuts with Arteza and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I colored them using only the markers and right at the very end I used waterbrush once lightly just to blend it all. I also splattered some of the ink from the markers on the background and attached some Unity sequins (which match perfectly), using the new Ultra Bond Adhesive.

Supplies used:
Sweet Love Digital Stamp Set
Sweet Sprinkled Donut Unity Rubber Stamp Kit
Samsung Laser Printer
Arteza Real Brush Pens
Kuretake Zig Real Brush Markers
Ultra Bond Adhesive

Cutting Digital Paper Backgrounds on your Cricut

For the shaker card, I did something quite fun! I printed one of the patterned papers from the Sweet Love Digital Paper Pack on photo paper using a Brother Inkjet printer, and ran it through my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut a heart window panel! (Click here to access this project over at Cricut Design Space.)  To make it, I created a 4.5″ square on Design Space, then inserted a 3.5″ heart shape on the center, and finally attached both shapes together, that way the machine cuts both images at once creating a heart window square card panel! I did alter the heart shape to be a little wider, and that way I was able to match the the digital heart lollipop stamp too!

cricutheartshakercard_gracielliedesign

This technique is really fun because you can use shapes from Cricut Design Space to make your own backgrounds on any digital paper pattern. It also makes the process easier and will help you put together shaker cards in no time!

sweetlovedigitalpapersoncricut

I cut a piece from acetate, using Clear Designer Toner Sheets from Therm O Web, and adhered it to the back of the heart window panel with the GK Designs Adhesive Dot Runner. Next, I added lots of different Unity sequins on the center of a 5″ by 5″ white card base and then mounted the panel using GK Designs Foam Tape.

For the image and sentiment, I sized and printed them using a laser printer and then I colored the heart lollipop using real brush markers! I fussy cut the image and attached it to the card with the new GK Designs Foam Squares. I cut a banner with the printed sentiment and adhered it with GK Designs Adhesive Dot RunnerThis tape works great for the shaker too!

We released it for National Coffee Day recently and it also comes with coordinating Coffee Lovers digital paper pack and SVG Cut Files (all of which are available HERE).

For the card’s background I dry embossed a white cardstock panel using the very old Argyle Cuttlebug embossing folder. Then I teared a few pieces of patterned paper that I printed previously on leather textured cardstock and layered 3 pieces on the center of the card panel. I used the new GK Foam tape in white, to give one of the patterned pieces more dimension.

Iheartcoffee_GraciellieDesign_4

I watercolored this coffee mug using the Paul Rubens watercolor palette. I finished the image with some Diamond Dust Twinklets that I adhered to the topping with Ultra Bond Adhesive. By the way, this new adhesive is amazing for glitter, sequins, ribbon and so much more… It’s super strong, dries fast and clear! Totally recommend it!

Iheartcoffee_GraciellieDesign_2

For the the sentiment, I decided to draw a heart around it and color it with Spectrum Noir markers… It ended up looking like a yummy butter cookie! I added some shimmer to it using a Sparkle brush pen too.

Iheartcoffee_GraciellieDesign_3

To finish off my card I adhered a jute twine bow to the mug and some sequins to the background using Ultra Bond Adhesive.

Rustic Winter Card with Unity Stamps and Digital Papers

This year I’ve been drawn to the more traditional holiday colors with a touch of rustic, farmhouse style. You might notice it with my latest rubber stamp kit for Unity and also with the new digital paper pack I’ve designed. Today I’m combining both of them to create a unique Winter card.

WhateverKeepsYouWarm_WinterPoinsettiaCard_GraciellieDesign_1b

To begin, I printed the digital patterned papers on photo paper, which makes the patterns look very bright and pretty. I cut a large A2 panel from the distressed black and white gingham sheet and a smaller rectangle from the poinsettia on chalkboard patterned sheet. I used kraft cardstock for both the card base and the matting frame.

The Poinsettia branch was colored with Spectrum Noir markers. The colors that seemed to match the patterned papers best were the Magenta reds. This is a very detailed image but it will always end up looking regal no matter how much shading you decide to add to it.

WhateverKeepsYouWarm_WinterPoinsettiaCard_GraciellieDesign_2b

I printed a sentiment from the kit and cut a banner from it. I added a couple of Silver Glitter Dust Photo Corners to it, which added an elegant sparkly touch to contrast the rustic details on the card. I also tied some jute twine around the other end of the banner. Both the sentiment, the fussy cut Poinsettias and the organic sticks added to them were adhered with Gina K. Designs Permanent Adhesive Runner and 3D Zots.

WhateverKeepsYouWarm_WinterPoinsettiaCard_GraciellieDesign_3b

Love, love, love this color combo. Black, red and kraft look SO great together. I invite you to try it out for your Holiday and Winter cards this year! This card has a simple layout, but the colors and patterns make it pop beautifully.

That’s it for today. Hope you enjoyed today’s card!
