Unicorn Wishes Card Set – New Stamps & SVG’s + Giveaway!

Yay! It’s time for a new release at Graciellie Design. We had a few date changes this month, but I assure you it’s only because of many exciting things coming very soon! Today we have 4 new stamp sets and 1 coordinating SVG set, that are available now on the shop. The design team is sharing truly amazing samples and we are having a blog hop and giveaway to celebrate!

Our design team has been sharing some lovely classic cards and they inspired me to go back to basics and make this card set. I used the new Unicorn Wishes Stamp Set and SVG set. I am loving the unicorn trend and these cards remind me of all the beautiful stationery papers I collected when I was around 10 years old.

I cut the unicorn SVGs on my Cricut Explore Air from Aquamarine Mica/Metallic 105# cardstock from Paper Temptress’ Magnolia Dreams Collection. They were really easy to cut, since I created them in a way that they wouldn’t give your machine any trouble. Also, the metallic cardstock I used works great with these SVGs!

I layered different patterned papers from DCWV’s Fairytale Dreams paper pack -including some beautiful glittery cardstocks- using different stitched dies from Gina K. Designs for Therm O Web. I even used the pink patterned paper to print my sentiments. I finished off the cards with white grossgrain ribbon from Paper Temptress and crinkle ribbon from Tim Holtz and embellished both with a stunning flower sticker rhinestone from the Eyelet Outlet.

Blog Hop & Giveaway
I think the pastel colors look beautiful together and the give the cards a dreamy, nostalgic look! I hope you enjoyed seeing these projects and that they inspire you to create some unicorn cards yourself! But wait, there is more to share today, so follow the list below to see what our DT created with the new stamp collection! Comment on each stop for a chance to win a $10 coupon to the shop!

Lilac Inspiration with Magnolia Dreams – Blog Hop & Winners!

Today is our inspiration blog hop with our GD shop team and there will be so many different project ideas for you! I wanted to share an elegant an easy to make set of notecards in beautiful lilac and aqua. The new digital paper pack Magnolia Dreams has a color palette that allows you to play with a few more colors other than fuscia and teal. You’ll see me mixing and matching SVG cuts, some mine and another from a different designer and also traditional die cuts. Follow me to check out how I made these dreamy cards.

I am using 2 tones of lilac specialty cardstock and an aqua cardstock by by Paper Temptress, our collab partner this month who created a specialty paper pack that will let you make a large amount of projects in a variety of colors matching the patterns from our digital pack perfectly.

This card base has 3 different layers. I used Paper Temptress Aqua Basis 80#, Amethist Mica Metallic and Mountain Rose Glimmer.

Layer 1. I started of by cutting our A2 detailed medallion panel from the new Magnolia Dreams SVG pack on the Cricut Explore Air 2. That is going to be our first layer, sitting on top of the card base.

Layer 2. I also cut a Anna Griffin Flourish Cards and Embellishments card base sized to an A2. I did cut the back of the flourish card to create a matching layer for the medallion panel. Although the designs are different both of the panels match to perfection and you can see a hint of the flourish design under the medallion panel for a modern layered die cut look that is so on trend right now!

Layer 3. Our third layer is smooth. It’s a simple A2 card panel cut from one of the patterns in the new Magnolia Dreams digital paper pack. Place this panel underneath the flourish and medallion layers.

Layer 4. Of course we need to embellish our notecards. I cut a traditional stitched circle die cut from the new Therm O Web Gina K. Designs line (from the Large Set) and added it to the center of the card.

Layer 5. Add a piece of lilac gross grain ribbon across the card panel and then add the last layer, a medallion SVG embellishment that comes in the new Magnolia Dreams SVG pack. Optional: Add some sparkle to the medallion customizing it with glitter. There is a super easy way to make your own matching glitter svg cuts. More on that technique HERE.

A rhinestone embellishment finishes off these notecards beautifully. Notecards shouldn’t be plain. The new Magnolia SVG cuts are so fast to make using your electronic cutter and they look so detailed and elegant. Customize your notecards mixing and matching cuts and create a personalized card that everyone will love!

Adding Shimmer to SVG cuts Easily + Giveaway! – New Digital Release and Design Team!

We started the month with an amazing blog hop with Paper Tempress and today we continue the celebration with our New Release Blog Hop. Today we introduce more new designers that have joined our team for 2017-2018 and who have many project ideas that I know you’ll love!

We have released 3 new stamp sets, a paper pack and an SVG set! We have a special collection for the first time called Magnolia Dreams that includes coordinating stamps, papers and SVG cuts. It has a beautiful color theme in fuscia and teal. To complement this collection, Paper Temptress has put together a specialty paper pack that coordinates with the theme. You can find out more about that on yesterday’s blog hop!

Today I have a card and a gift card holder to share featuring the Magnolia Dreams collection. I’m having lots of fun with the new svg cut files and I love that I was able to design them to coordinate with the pattern in the digital papers.

The new SVG files are so versatile. I resized the medallion on Cricut Design Space and cut them in 2 different sizes. The large one was cut from Teal Basis 80# which is a matte cardstock, I used a brush to apply mixed media adhesive and then covered it with Colorbox Winter Frost glitter. The smaller medallion was cut from Self Adhesive Toner Sheets and then foiled with Teal Deco Foil in a laminator. These are just 2 ways you can customize your SVG cuts and as you can see it is very simple to do!

I cut the gift card holder with one of Anna Griffin’s newest cartridges, cutting all the elements with our new digital patterned papers. Our digital paper pack comes with a Magnolia branch clipart and those are the perfect finishing embellishments for your projects. I usually like to finish my printed elements with a bit of Glitter Dust spray which not only seals the print but also adds a beautiful soft sparkle. That is another fun way of adding shimmer to your SVG cuts and the best part is this spray won’t smudge the ink on your prints, on the contrary it will protect them and make them more durable.

As you can see even the inside of the gift card holder uses digital paper prints. Digital paper packs are the perfect way to customize projects, but my favorite part is you can print them over and over again, so you never run out of your favorite patterns.

3 Giveaways + New Magnolia Dreams Collection & Paper Temptress Blog Hop

Today is the beginning of a new design team term and we are introducing 13 amazing designers from all over the world! Also, we are celebrating this new journey with a digital collection like you’ve never seen before!

Our August release features for the first time a unique coordinating collection called Magnolia Dreams that includes a stamp set; a paper pack in 2 of my favorite colors: Fuscia and Teal; and, for the first time on our shop, an SVG set of 5 cuts that coordinate with the patterns on our new paper pack.

Graciellie Design is also collaborating this month with Paper Temptress not only with this amazing blog hop but also with an exclusive specialty paper release created to coordinate perfectly with our new Magnolia Dreams collection

This variety pack is a physical product that includes 23 sheets of high quality cardstock and it even includes a few extra ribbon goodies! It is available for purchase on Paper Temptress shop starting today! The colors were carefully selected to match our digital paper pack perfectly and the colors, textures and metallics you will get in this pack are beyond stunning!

My card for today is a mix of everything fuscia and teal from the new release! I drew this Magnolia flower from scratch inspired on the beautiful vintage Magnolia branch motif on the digital papers. This flower comes with a transparent background (just as the sentiments do). I uploaded the flower to my Cricut space, saved it as a print and cut file and the Cricut Explore Air 2 cut it out for me, saving me lots of time!

The flower was colored with Prismacolor pencils. This is my second time using this medium and though it takes longer than other coloring media do, you are able to add so much detail to the image. In this case I layered the color slowly and blended using 3 colors and a light color that helped create a soft transition between every hue.

All the papers used on this card come from Paper Temptress Magnolia Dreams Specialty Paper Collection. I used Cryogen White to print the digital papers (which makes the patterns shimmer), Nero Incandescent for the black frames, Teal Basis for the branch die cuts, Kraft for the printed sentiment and a delicate soft pink for the cardbase.

The patterns, colors and cardstocks coordinate so nicely and the result you’re going to get with this collection will always be bright and beautiful! All I needed to do to finish this card was add some teal rhinestones from Eyelet Outlet and I was done!

Bright & Happy Card with Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps

Today I’m using what I think is the cutest coffe cup clear stamp there is to make a freestyle collage card! I’m featuring stamps from the sets Fill Me Up and Scribble Flowers by Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps!

To make this card I went ahead and stamped as many scraps of white cardstock I could with flowers and leaves from the set Scribble Flowers with Umbrella Crafts Black Premium Dye Ink. This particular ink I used is hybrid and it allows you to watercolor the stamped images. I colored them with Zig Markers and a waterbrush using bright colors. Once all the images were colored I fussy cut them and set them aside.

I then stamped the coffee cup from Fill Me Up on Kraft 100# cardstock and the heart coffee cup sleeve on Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper using the same black ink, and fussy cut those too. The final element I stamped was the mini label with little check box words from the same set and heat embossed them in white on 48# heavyweight vellum.

Putting all the pieces together is always fun, but it can take time since there are so many ways to arrange them. The background is actually stenciled -using a TCW Mini Halftone Circles- with Mixed Media Medium and half of it is foiled in Silver Sequins and another part has Colorbox Winter Frost glitter. (See tutorial here.)I added a Wild Orchid -Purple- Double Stitch Design small circle die cut on the back to make all the element pop. I finished off the card with some pink paper twine, a green notebook page edge die cut and 3/8 Reversible Satin Ribbon w/stitches which brings together all the design.

That’s it for today! For more ideas an inspiration make sure to subscribe to Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps blog. Thanks so much for stopping by!

New Digital Stamp Duos – An Inspiring Throwback to Classic Cardmaking + Giveaway

Wow, I can’t believe it’s June already! Of course, the beginning of a new month also means more new stamps and for the first time in a long time I feel like this month’s release captures the heart of classic cardmaking which makes the collection a very special one for the designers and I and we hope that you feel the same!

We are releasing 4 new digital stamp duo sets today! That’s right, each of the sets includes 2 coordinating images and -as always- many sentiment options. Remember that digital gives you the freedom to play with the size, color and printing options of the images, which is what makes them so versatile! We have shared so many techniques along the way on how to expand your digital stamps so we really hope you are enjoying this creative journey together with us!

I am using the new set Sending Kindness today. I printed the pear flowers and the pears with a regular inkjet printer (which is the perfect format for alcohol marker coloring). I colored the images with Spectrum Noir Markers and fussy cut them to attach them to the card together as one image. For the background mat I printed the sentiment on one side and then cut it. (You can do this in Microsoft Word easily.) I then sponged one side of the mat with Distress Ink, flickered some water droplets and also some acrylic paint. That created a nice transition and completed the classic look of this card.

CRAFTY TIP FOR DIGIS: After I colored the images and before I adhered them to the card, I sprayed them a couple of times with Glitter Dust spray in Gold by Therm O Web. This is the BEST way to add shimmer to your digital stamps without any smear or ink bleeding. I have tried many other shimmer sprays but this one is by far the best. It dries instantly and the shimer and sparkle is beyond beautiful. You can get it in different glitter colors. The glitter doesn’t come of, so that is another advantage!

I wanted to match the card base with the sparkle on the images and this stunning Nero Incandescent metallic cardstock was just perfect for the layering mat. I also used a beautiful olive green (Jelly Bean Green #100) -which matched the coloring nicely- for the card base. You can find both of these cardstocks on Paper Temptress!

Here it is! New Video Tutorial – Watercolor Wash Backgrounds for Cards

Yay! Finally! Today I have a new video tutorial on these watercolor wash backgrounds I’ve been making lately! My followers have been asking to know more and some wanted to see the process! I’ve been wanting to make a video tutorial for a while and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to get back on track!
The background I’m painting on the video is based on the ones I used for today’s cards. I got new watercolor colors and I’ve been playing with warmer washes. I love how easy it is to finish a card when you use a watercolor wash… I love adding bold images and sentiments foiled on vellum. These sentiments are actually from my latest digi stamp release on Etsy and I think they look perfect on these backgrounds.

I am not using watercolor cardstock today, instead I am painting on metallic cardstock. This cardstock is called Cryogen White Iridescent and it is carried by Paper Temptress. It has a subtle shimmer and when your watercolor dries the cardstock sparkles through the color… Just beautiful.

I think making these backgrounds is my new crafty addiction! The process is very spontaneous so it is also relaxing and inspiring. I hope you are able to try it out too. If you do, do tag me on social media using #gracielliedesign

For more inspiration make sure you check out some other cards I shared recently using the same technique. I go through the details of how I put them together so that might be interesting for you also!

That is it! Thanks so much for visiting! I will be back with a new tutorial very soon! I invite you to subscribe by email to this blog so you don’t miss any of our new projects!

Stained Flowers DIY Patterned Paper with Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps

Floral specialty papers can be beautiful, especially when they have a metallic finish. I decided to go ahead and try to make my own using Floral Greetings and Peaceful Peonies from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps and Laser Silver Lustre paper.

I stamped the flower multiple times to create a pattern. I used Color Box Mix’d Media Inx in Truffe and heat embossed it with Bridal Tinsel embossing powder from Ranger. I then colored the flowers applying a bit of Zig markers and spreading the color using my fingers. I kept layering the color until I was happy with the shading. This technique gives the flowers a stained look. The glossy paper allows the color to glide and you end up getting a different coloring effect.

I used the same ink to stamp the sentiment on Heavyweight Vellum #48 and cut a banner. I decided to fussy cut 2 flowers from the remainding stamped paper and adhere them on top of a simple pink frame cut from Mountain Rose Glimmer cardstock -which goes along perfectly with the Rose Quartz Mica / Metallic card base. To add dimension to the frame and flowers I used 3D Foam Strips and Foam Squares.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project idea. Make sure to visit Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps to check out these and other new clear stamp sets available now. For more ideas and inspiration visit SNSS blog!

DIY Foil Stamped Flowers on Vellum – Elegant Monochromatic Card + Tips & Tricks

I love using transparencies on cards. I usually use vellum because of how delicate it looks. So I decided to use one of Sweet ‘n Sassy’s latests flower stamp from a set I designed –Floral Greetings– in a non-traditional way. You will see me using a couple of stunning papers today from Paper Temptress too!

I used a quick and easy DIY technique to foil the flowers on heavyweight #48 vellum to create these stamped embellishments. First, I stamped the flowers using pigment ink (which works just as well as any embossing ink), and I then heat embossed the images in gold. But because I wanted to create a metal on metal effect I went ahead and foiled the flowers in silver. All I did was cover the images with a piece of Deco Foil Silver Foil transfer sheet and ran them through a laminator making sure to wrap the stamped vellum within at least 2 copy paper sheets folded in half, to avoid the embossing powder from melting completely. This trick will allow you to get a distressed foil effect that lets some of the embossed areas to show. In the end, you get a beautiful silver on gold metallic finish.

I fussy cut the flowers and used them to frame the wonderful verse from Peaceful Peonies. I layered a few die cuts and used a beautiful black shimmery two toned cardstock called Nero Incandescent to go along with the metallic tones on the images. (This is one of the most beautiful papers I’ve worked with.) I added a few touches of beige here and there to make the sentiment pop and tie all the monochromatic layers together. I love the result, but I’m sure this card wouldn’t have been the same without these beautiful stamps!

Watercolored Peony with Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps

I’ve been loving my Zig markers and have been using it so much lately! Today once again I’m sharing a beautiful emboss resist watercolored peony from Peaceful Peonies by Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. I used a color I don’t usually use but it sure makes you think of Summer! I’m also using a couple of stunning papers from Paper Temptress today!

I do not use watercolor paper to color since I am unable to find it where I live, but I use a paper that does not absorb the water so much and I use little water and that does the trick. I’m guessing the paper (called Opalina), is very compressed or has a thin coating that makes it work well with watercolors. I used yellow, hot pink and a peachy pink to color the flowers and two tones of green for the leaves.

To make the flower look even fuller I added leaf die cuts in olive green and also some ferns in Gold Metallic Vellum. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on heavyweight vellum #48 in gold sparkle embossing powder which actually has glitter in it and gives the sentiment a lot of texture.

I love how the tangerine looks against that white textured background. The orange card base ties the elements on the card perfectly and makes the green from the leaves pop.

Thanks so much for visiting today. For more inspiration please make sure to subscribe to this and also to SNSS blog!
