Die Cuts & Vellum – Our Daily Bread Designs

Hello and welcome to our last challenge of the month at Our Daily Bread Designs! This challenge will run for two weeks and it’s an Anything Goes with ODBD stamps. So take out your supplies and let’s get crafty! I enjoyed so much sharing male card designs with you this month. I know that we papercrafters feel blocked when it comes to creating male cards, so I thought I would share as many ideas as possible, sharing cards for Father’s Day and any other occasions. I hope I have inspired you to try out more male cards too!

Here is another card idea that I think is very modern and clean. Vellum always adds an awesome effect to cards. I stamped and heat embossed and wonderful verse from the new Good Man stamp set on vellum. I added a bit of gold string matching the gold sentiment.

For the background I added many different tool die cuts from the new Workshop Tools set, using patterned papers (also new from ODBD). I created a wide die cut frame with a soft patterned paper that I think finishes that card design nicely.

To see all the projects created for ODBDSLC244 or to join the challenge click here. You have until June 28, 2015 at 8:00pm EDT to join us. By participating in the challenge, you have a chance to win a $15 ODBD Gift Certificate good towards the purchase of stamps in the “stamps column” on the ODBD website, or to be spotlighted on the ODBD Blog at our next challenge. The random prize winner will be posted on our next challenge post.

My teammates designed cards for your inspiration too:

My wish is to continue to share male cards ideas whenever possible, but I do encourage you to break that paradigm and expand your creativity trying out different kinds of papercrafting projects. Thanks so very much for stopping by! I’ll see you again very soon.

The new collection at ODBD includes amazing products for male cards and that motivated me to go back to designing more male cards… I plan to design at least one a month (hope I can keep it up).

Weekly Inspiration with ODBD

What are you inspired by? I love delicate patterns and pastel colors… I love to add layers and dimension to a project. I love to inspire others too! All of this things inspire me to create and motivate me to keep on doing what I do. Today I am sharing a card I made with beautiful papers, stamps and dies from Our Daily Bread Designs, using one of the new dies in an unconventional way.

I wanted to create a decorative column for the background using various layers. I had been wanting to use the new Pegboard die from ODBD in an unexpected way and what I did is die cut two pegboards and cut about 1/4″ from them and then cut one of them in half. The pegboard column adds a so much detail and interest to the card.

Another interesting touch I added was the vellum frame. I die cut one Lacey Square from ODBD, cut it in thirds and adhere the two remainding corners under the sentiment label. This is the last thing I added to the card, and I actually had to come back and add that finishing touch to be completely satisfied. It does make a difference and it softens the design nicely.

I hope I’ve inspired you today. Thanks so much for your visit! Before I go, tell me… What inspires you?

Have a great weekend!

Vintage Blessing – ODBD Sketch

It’s time for a sketch challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs. Today’s sketch was so much fun to play with and it also made my design look elegant! As promised last week I’ll be sharing male card ideas throughout the month. My card for today would work well for any occasion and even for a lady, since it incorporates all sorts of elements.

I used 3 different patterned papers from the new ODBD vintage collection and cut two banners included in the same paper pack to add them as elements to my card. I picked black as my accent color and followed the sketch vertically. I really like the new stamp set and I think it matches the design perfectly!

Blessings in a Bottle – Our Daily Bread Designs

This month at Our Daily Bread Designs we are having fun with a wonderful new release! I will be sharing male card ideas throughout the month, not only for Father’s Day but for every occasion! This week there’s a Color Challenge for your inspiration. Here’s what I created:

ODBD stamps used: Good Man, Apothecary Bottles / ODBD dies used: Flourished Star Pattern Die / ODBD paper used: Vintage Ephemera Collection

I used three different sheets from the new vintage papers. The labels I added to the stamped bottles were cut from one of the sheets. I like how the papers coordinate, and I also like how well they look on male cards. I colored the bottles with alcohol markers and added a few embellishments to finish the design.

I have a close-up video for June’s release that I’m adding below. I invite you to check it out. I’m sharing other ODBD products on the video also!

Flutter & Fly – Our Daily Bread Designs

This week the challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs is Fluttering and Flying with ODBD stamps and here is the card I made inspired in this theme!

ODBD Stamps used: Belle Vignes / ODBD Dies used: Fancy Fritillary, Fancy Foliage / ODBD Paper used: Soulful Stitches

I really enjoyed using the new background stamp together with the new butterfly die cuts. I went for a fuscia color to contrast with the neutral background. Love how well the flourishes look also! This was such a nice card to create. I folded one of the butterflies to create a different look for this gorgeous die cut… It´s a really simple trick that I like to use with butterflies sometimes. I skipped adding a sentiment to the front of the card this time but I will be adding something nice inside! I finished this clean and layered design with gross grain ribbon, pearls and rhinestones.

Sketch Challenge – Our Daily Bread Designs

New week, new challenge! It’s time for a sketch challenge ar Our Daily Bread Designs. I went for a classic clean and layered style using beautiful papers, dies and stamps from ODBD.

Supplies: ODBD Stamps used: How Sweet the Sound / ODBD Dies used: Umbrella dies, Doily Dies, Flourished Star Pattern Die / ODBD Paper: Blushing Rose Collection

I used a light brown cardstock for my card base and layering. The beautiful papers go along well with the light brown tone. I used jute twine, pearls and a brad as finishing touches on the card. I was inspired in the elegant cards created by various teammates but particularly by Lisa Somerville who has such a way with paper. She is really amazing with layering and patterned papers!

Beads, Flowers & Crackle + Video

This is proving to be a very busy week here at the blog but it’s also been a happy crafting week so far! Today I’m joining the Frilly & Funky team as their Guest Designer, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I’m always inspired by the beautiful projects shared there so it’s an honor to be able to join them at least for a bit!

The challenge at Frilly & Funky is Snap, Crackle, Crackle! Let’s see some cracks on your creations! You can use crackle paint, crackle paste, crackle glaze, crackle accents, an old cracked image, a piece of cracked ultra thick embossing powder, a cracked pattern from a stencil or stamp… You can even doodle on your crackle design! Anything goes, as long as is cracks!

I love to use crackle embossing paste on my shabby chic projects and that’s exactly what I used for today’s card.

Supplies: Spellbinders – Rose Creations, Victoria Accents / Our Daily Bread Designs – Ornate Hearts / Ranger – Distress Ink spray in Spun Sugar, Perfect Pearls Mists in Biscotti, Distress ink in Old Paper, Distress Paint in Antique Linen, Dylusions White Linen Ink Spray, Idea-ology crinkle ribbon / Carta Bella – Hello Again / Dreamweaver – Crackle Embossing Paste / Uhu All Purpose Adhesive / Bead Landing – Word Beads / Mcgill – Flower Tool Kit, Craft Molding Mat / Miscelaneous – Vintage gold button, gauze, pink metallic cardstock, beige textured cardstock, pink leather textured cardstock, foam tape, fused string pearl beads

I added handmade flowers around two die cut hearts and embellished them with flourish die cuts, crinkle ribbon, pearls, pearl string, gauze, a vintage button and a word bead. I colored my flowers with Distress Ink spray in Spun Sugar, Perfect Pearls Mists in Biscotti and Distress ink in Old Paper. I adhered it all on a beautiful floral patterned paper that I previously applied with Dreamweaver crackle embossing paste, Distress Paint in Antique Linen and Dylusions White Linen Ink Spray.

I loved how the card looks with that patterned background and pretty flowers. To see how I made these flowers please check out the video tutorial below:

I invite you to visit Frilly and Funky and join the challenge! I love their blog and I know you’ll love it too! Also, take a minute to stop by their shop where you can find all the Ranger/Tim Holtz products I used for my card and more.

ODBD Color Challenge + Video

A new month of challenges and wonderful releases is here! Have you seen Our Daily Bread Designs new release? It’s just gorgeous and full of many, many new stamps and dies that I know you’ll love. So today I am sharing a card I made with some of the new products for our Color Inspiration challenge.

I decided to use yellow, blue and green from the color board. I didn’t know how my design would turn out because this are not my usual colors, but I am really happy with the result. I used two paper collections from ODBD: Rustic Beauty and Blushing Rose.
The handmade flowers were made with the new Birds and Nest dies set, that includes two different flower dies. I will be sharing a video tutorial on how to make flowers with this set tomorrow, so stay tuned. I finished the flower bouquet with flourishes and leaves die cut with the Fancy Foliage set.
I used the beautiful Quatrefoil Pattern die, cutting it roughly to give the card a mixed media feel. I colored the patterned die cut with Yellow Gold Inka Gold and then with Antique Linen paint. I also used the coordinating Quatrefoil Design die as a label for the sentiment. This beautiful sentiment is also from another new stamp set called Belle Vignes.

I finished the card with many little stamped and die cut butterflies that I created with the new Butterfly & Bugs stamp set and Butterflies & Bugs dies.

I have a video for you below where I share a close-up to Our Daily Bread Designs May release and a sneak peek of a card I made with more new stamps and dies. I invite you to check it out:

Tea & Blessings

Welcome to our Scripture challenge with ODBD stamps. Our Daily Bread Designs has been hosting many inspiring challenges and I have enjoyed creating for them a lot! This week you can use any Scripture / verse stamp from ODBD on your project for the challenge.

I created a nice little box, a tea box. It’s the kind to give away as a gift. I made this one from scratch but you can certainly use the actual box your tea comes in and cover it. I used different papers from the Shabby Rose Paper Collection to give the box a delicate look.

I stamped a verse from ODBD’s Bless your Heart on a pretty label cut with the new Layered Lacey Squares dies and added it together with pink ribbon and linen thread to finish my project.

To see all the projects created for ODBDSLC236 or to join the challenge click here. You have until May 3, 2015 at 8:00pm EDT to join us. By participating in the challenge, you have a chance to win a  $15 ODBD Gift Certificate good towards the purchase of stamps in the “stamps column” on the ODBD website, or to be spotlighted on the ODBD Blog at our next challenge.
