It’s the second challenge of the day at Hiding in my Craft Room, in celebration of our Blogiversary. The challeng is “Keep it Simple Sweetie!” (KISS). This just basically means to keep your project nice and simple or clean styled.
The giveaway is a $20 Gift Certificate to the store!
Of course I had the chance to try out some amazing metallic papers from Paper Temptress and what a priviledge really! The textures, the shimmer, the weight of the sheets… Just a delight to work with!
For this card I dried emboss a layer of Lagoon Mica Metallic cardstock (I love this color!), using the faux letterpress techique with Brilliance pigment ink in Pearlescent beige. The effect is really subtle but it does give the debossing a deeper shadow that you can’t tell right away.
I went for the true CAS style and die cut a circle from Silver Mica Metallic cardstock with the largest of Spellbinders Classic Circle Small. I also die cut butterflies from Spellbinders Butterflies Two
from Candido Incandescent Metallic cardstock. I then splattered some Inka-Gold (in yellow gold) water to the butterflies by tapping a brush. And finally I heat embossed sentiment from Gina K. Designs’ Little things stamp set on Vellum. All was adhered to a Leather Textured cardstock card base.
This will be my last project for the day but please keep vising Hiding in my Craft Room and my teammates’ blogs to learn about the remainding challenges and see all what has been created for your inspiration.
Congratulations Laurie on your blog anniversary! I wish you many more! Thanks you so much for stopping by!
I am so happy to have a chance to celebrate, together with my teammates, Hiding in my Craft Room’s blog anniversary! There will be lots of fun challenges and giveaways throughout the entire day today. These challenges will last all week long to give you time to play along. To start the party we have the all time favorite Super Scraps Saturday. A month wouldn’t be complete without a Super Scraps challenge!
I had the opportunity to use one of their lovely images called Spring Branch, which I loved to color!
I colored this digi with Spectrum Noir markers from various sets (Yellows, Reds, Greens, Browns). I used the out of the box technique, one that I enjoy to use with this kind of floral images. I die cut the labels with Spellbinders Classic Labels Four and Spellbinders Gold Labels Four. The white label was stenciled with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and heat embossed with a sentiment from Flourishes’ Flowers for Jan stamp set in gold. I added a central panel layering leather textured cardstock in orange (also dried embossed) over patterned paper from Shery K. Designs. It was all adhered to a leather textured cardstock card base in white. Amazingly almost all was made from scraps!
Don’t miss a chance to play along and win some crafty goodies this week! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create. I will be back in an hour with a second project for HIMCR’s Blogiversary, so stay tuned!
Congratulations Ladies! Please email me to graciellie at live.com so I can send you your prize. Thanks everyone for your support, for stopping by and commenting and most importantly for your kind comments that encourage me to keep on creating!
I will be doing another giveaway soon during the month of August, so stay tuned!
