More Inspiration: August Stamp Release – And our Giveaway Winner! –

It’s finally time for our inspiration blog hop! Today we have more project ideas using our new August stamp release. If you haven’t had a chance to visit our shop and check out our collection click HERE. To all of you who have been part of our celebration, our designers and followers -old and new-, thanks for making of this new release a success!

My card for today features yet again one of my favorite stamp sets from the new collection: Sent with a Prayer. I am using again the leaf images as embellishments (printed and foiled on acetate), thanks to the help of a Samsung laser printer, a Mini Minc machine and Deco foil transfer sheets. The sentiment from the same stamp set was printed and then foiled with matte black Deco Foil to add even more contrast against the brown cardstock.

I layered all the elements on this design on a vintage patterned paper panel, that I aged even more applying ink sprays in Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint and also some Pan Pastel in Titanium White. I also used DecoArt Media white crackle paint on the flowers and then I watered it down a bit to add some droplets to the flowers and part of the card panel.

The flowers, laces, ribbons and twine from May Arts Ribbon gave lots of texture to this Fall inspired card. I also added pieces of a stunning vintage washi tape from the Eyelet Outlet here and there. Other embellishments such as the gold buttons, big pearls and wood clip finish the look of the flower cluster. I foiled the metal gear embellishment using Deco Foil Adhesive Pen and a piece of Deco Foil transfer sheet to match the gold on the leaves.

I hope you are inspired by the array of projects the designers have prepared for you today. Follow the links below to check out how they used the new stamps from this month’s release!

Watercolor Blessings

Today I am sharing a card I made with some gorgeous products from Classy Cards ‘n Such. It’s an autumnal watercolored card, with a wonderful verse embossed on vellum. Watercoloring is very relaxing. I had not made a watercolored card in a while so I enjoyed making this card a lot!

I started off by heat embossing in white some pears from Inky Antics’ Holy Spirit’s Fruit stamp set. I stamped the images trying to create an opened frame.

Then I painted the pears with Faber Castell watercolor pencils. I usually don’t color directly on the image, instead I color on a scrap piece of paper, and just pick up the colors with a wet brush, that way I don’t leave pencil traces on my final image. I used various tones of greens and browns to achieve these shades.

Once done, I went ahead and die cut the colored piece of cardstock with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A. The die cutting and embossing helps flatten the cardstock, I should add.

Next I heat embossed in Gold Detail a verse from the same stamp set on Heavyweight Vellum. I added the vellum across the watercolored layer, horizontally, and tucked the ends on the back.

Finally I mounted the colored layer on a leather textured card base, in sand beige, which matches the tones of the pears perfectly. To complete my design I added some Baby Pearls – LeCreme on each corner of the vellum layer.

I hope you feel inspired by seeing my card. I invite you to try out this technique, it’s one of my favorites. Remember that all the supplies used are listed above. For more please visit Classy Cards ‘n Such store!

Thanks for your visit!

Kitties Fall Picnic

Today I’m excited to share a card I made for this week’s challenge at Classy Cards ‘n Such: Fall Picnic. Of course, I used many crafty goodies from CCNS store to create my card, some lovely supplies I must add!

To make this card, first I die cut my card base with Our Daily Bread Designs’ Vintage Flourish Pattern, and then I die cut a window on it’s front with the coordinating frame from the same set. I cut an inner layer that matched the size of the card base from White Pearl Linen. I printed a piece of plaid patterned digital paper on White Pearl Linen also, and adhered it covering one third of the inner layer, to work as a picnic blanket. I aligned the inner layer with the card base, marked the window outline on it and die cut it with the coordinating frame die. The frame that resulted was attached to the inside of the card, after I aged it with Distress Ink in Old Paper, with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The other remainding part of the inner layer was attached to the card front, from the inside.

Once the card base was entirely ready, I started working on all the elements I needed to complete my card. I stamped Wild Rose Studio’s Kitty Picnic on White Pearl Linen and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. I fuzzy cut it and adhered the images to the card front with Tombow Mono Multi Glue.

I then die cut lots of leaves from Precious Metals Craft Foil by Spellbinders with Impression Obsession’s Small Leaf Set. I applied some Graphite Inka Gold to the craft foil leaves, to make them look a bit organic. I added the leaves on the bottom of the card front around the images, arranging them to look like a bed of leaves. I adhered them with UHU all purpose adhesive (silicone gel glue).

I also used other die cuts as tree branches that I cut from olive green paper with Poppy Stamps’ Pine Garland. I cut around four or five of them and adhered them with Tombow Mono Multi Glue to the card front from the inside, so they’d appear to be coming out of the window.

Finally I heat embossed a sentiment, from Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Autumn Mum Greetings stamp set, with Gold detail embossing powder on a little banner that was die cut with the smallest die from A2 Matting Basics A. I distressed the die cut’s edges, and applied Distress ink in Old Paper to it, and next I cut it’s right end with a scissor to create the classic banner shape. I mounted it with foam tape on the left side of the card, and cut the remainder piece to fit the card’s width perfectly.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my card! I invite you to join our challenge this week for a chance to win a prize from the store and the Classiest Card Award too. Thanksgiving Greetings

Thanksgiving was celebrated recently in Canada, but it’s yet to be celebrated in the United States, so I still have time to share some crafty ideas for it. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving where I leave, but we used to do some abundant and fun dinners at the american school where I studied… Good old days!

Today I have a card I made using a cute vintage collage from Ewe-N-Me Printables called Collage Sheet – Thanksgiving 102. I used the image of the girl holding a mirror for the turkey that simply blew my mind… How adorable and vintage is that image!

I made a card with lots and lots of layers and though this is a Fall card the color palette is very different. I picked the colors on the image for my card’s color combination. I framed the image and made it the focal point of the card. I added a rosette, embellished with Fall leaves I die cut, colored with pigment and distress inks, and with Inkagold in yellow gold, to give them a nice shimmer. Other elements added were a die cut doily folded in half, gold cording and some crystals.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my card and if you need to make some cards I highly suggest you visit Ewe-N-Me Printables’ store, because they have lots and lots of beautiful files for you.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be back in a bit with a new card for you, so stay tuned.
